Last season’s records: Auburn 6-7; San Jose State 5-7
What there is to know
The Auburn Tigers will stay at home one more week and host the San Jose State Spartans at 7:30 p.m. ET on September 10 at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Tigers went 35-21 in their last game in October 2015.
Auburn circled the Mercer Bears last week, and the extra yardage (497 yards to 271 yards) paid off. It all went well for Auburn against Mercer as they picked up a 42-16 victory. The game was pretty much decided at halftime, when the score had already reached 28-7. RB Tank Bigsby had a stellar game for Auburn as he rushed for two touchdowns and 147 yards on 16 carries.
Meanwhile, SJSU didn’t have too much wiggle room in their matchup with the Portland State Vikings last Thursday, but they still came away with a 21-17 win.
Their victories took the two teams to an identical score of 1-0. We’ll see which team can hold onto their success and which team inevitably fall when the Tigers and Spartans clash.
