Danvers Water Chlorine-Adding Station Set To Go Online

DANVERS, MA – Residents of Danvers could experience water disruptions next week as the city prepares to start up the new chlorine booster station at Folly Hill Water Storage Reservoir.

The new tank will add chlorine to the water at Folly Hill rather than at the Middleton sewage treatment plant. This is intended to provide more even water disinfection throughout the system.

On June 21, the initial start-up of the booster station will temporarily alter water distribution and pressure in Danvers and Middleton. Any disturbance must take place between 6am and 10am

Danvers and Middleton customers may experience temporary inconvenience such as loss of water pressure and slightly discolored water during this time.

Danvers residents are urged to immediately contact the Danvers Engineering Division at 978-777-2668 or the Danvers Water Treatment Plant at 978-774-5054 if they notice any changes in water quality. the water.

Additional information about the project will be posted here and the Danvers DPW Facebook and Twitter pages.
