Ironhide Game Studio, creators of the Kingdom Rush and Iron Marines series, have announced a new free tower defense game for iOS and Android. It’s called Junkworld and will soon be rolling out smoothly in UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Uruguay.
The studio’s latest IP takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where players will have to face off against a fierce army called The Order. They will not be the only threat, however. Players also have to deal with sand bandits and an array of vicious mutant beasts.
It promises to be a fast-paced, action-packed tower defense title that allows players to freely place towers around the map. As you would expect, they are scalable, allowing them to be even more powerful on the battlefield.
During the soft launch, 11 towers will be available with various capacities. Some of them are pretty standard, like towers equipped with snipers or flamethrowers. Others, meanwhile, are a little more offbeat, including the one that turns enemies into sheep. Other options should be introduced in future updates.
In addition to turns, players can deploy nine different tactics. These include mines and gas canisters, transforming helicopters that can throw bombs, and a warrior who sports trash can armor. There will also be two dangerous terrains to face through 40 different stages which aim to test your tactical skills. Beyond that, players can complete daily challenges and quests to earn useful rewards.
Junkworld is available for pre-registration now on Google Play and will also make its way to the App Store at a later date. It will be a free game with in-app purchases.
